Wet Toaster

A wise woman I know by the name of sister modersitzki described Virginia to be a "wet toaster" and i promise, you could think for years and not come up with better adjectives to describe how it feels walking around at 2:30 PM in July with garments on.

Last weekend we met a young man in the park named Abdul. (He's from Ghana, in VA for school) When we met him he was very skeptical, claiming to be an atheist, but continued to pose questions he had been pondering for a while! So on Saturday when we met up with him again (exactly one week later!!) He apologized for saying he was an atheist and admitted to the idea of a God making sense. MIRACLE. Then he came to church!! MIRACLE. And he loved it!! He texted us later that night and said he felt a lot of peace whilst attending the classes. And hearing from the bishop. *cries
(To be continued...)

There are a few things in this world that never get old. BYU vocal points album "lead thou me on" (2012) is one of those things.

Last Sunday a man chased us down the street because he recognized our tags! He took the missionary lessons about two years ago but stopped because of something that happened. We met up with him for lunch this weekend to figure out what he was all about. He works on the hill and straight up said (give or take) "Work has me all burnt out. Mormons are happy. I want more happiness. This city needs more smiles. I'm thinking January is a good month for a baptism. Will you two make me a list of all the things I need to know and all the things I need to do to get there?" MIRACLE.

Sister Chaudoin and I thought it would be a great idea to draw the plan of salvation with chalk on a biking/ running trail. We spent a good hour drawing it. (check the pics attached to this email) Just as we were getting in the car to leave THREE police cars drove up and told us residents living across the street from the trail called them. They said they could charge us with "destruction of property" ... well, umm okay. It's sidewalk chalk but you can't argue with the law. (Or uptight humans.) Lol. We called the elders and they helped us pour water and brush it away. :'( there was still quite a few people that saw it because we finished before they came. I'm positive it didn't go to complete waste! God has his ways. The whole thing was so ridiculous that whenever I think of it I can't help but bend over in laughter.

When the savior was hanging on the cross experiencing more pain than we could ever understand he still offered peace and hope to the thiefs beside him "And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise." (Luke 23: 43)
And I think that is beautiful.

ALSO, SHOUT OUT TO MY BEAUTIFUL SISTER FOR FINISHING HER MISSION!!!! ANYONE THAT WILL SEE HER MUST HUG HER FOR ME. THANKS.

LOVE YOU ALL!
Enjoy this fabulous week in the heart of summer! :)
