Happy Fall!

Image
Picture this. (Bc a legit picture wouldn't do it justice.) Pink skies. Bright moon. Long road along side the river. HUGE trees on either side. The D.C. skyline reflecting on the Potomac through the breaks in the trees. Christian rock. Windows down. Crisp air bc there was a break in the humidity. #fall :') LIFE.  Ready? This is about to be so cheesy. Mosiah 18:30- "And now it came to pass that all this was done in [Virginia], yea, by the waters of [Virginia], in the forest that was near the waters of [Virginia] yea, the place of [Virginia], the waters of [Virginia], the forest of [Virginia], how beautiful are they to the eyes of them who there came to the knowledge of their Redeemer; yea, and how blessed are they, for they shall sing to his praise forever." Haha it's true, life is more beautiful with the spirit and with the knowledge that it's all possible because of Christ. YAY! My new companions name is Sister.Minaker. She is from Canada! Let's talk about Abduls baptism for a second!! :') (and by a second I mean the whole email probably)  BEST DAY EVER. Seriously, it was such a special service. It was sort of rainy all day & we arrived two hours early to fill the font. (best sound ever hahaha) A lot of the ward came to support, they amaze me. #potomacyardYSAfortheW  Sister. Caplin & bishop each shared a beautiful testimony. Mine & Sister. Chaudoin's talks went well! After the service Abdul was walking around thanking everyone "I feel like a new man. I feel like my life starts today! Isn't this crazy? I actually felt my sins disappear!" Ahh I love that man. I love this gospel. I love the joy it brings. He called us a little later in the day after we had been home for a while. "Sisters, I just have to tell you thank you again. Thank you for bringing this into my life. I can't think of a way to best thank you two for persisting with me." *cries Just keep the commandmen...

Half of Sister Clark's area is a military base. Whilst in her area this week we decided to write notes to some members that live there! I was driving up the long road & when we saw the gates of base (we were in a weird mood) we freaked out & I turned the car around. We pulled over & discussed if we should still try and go inside. Sister Clark has a pass to get in but I don't.. haha we said a prayer & asked God if it was his will for us to deliver these notes that he would provide a way for us to get through the gates  When I drove up the second time I scanned her pass. The young guard man working in the gate box had us pull forward so he could see us "do you both have a pass?"  "She does, but I do not" *i say with a big smile  The guard gave a "shhh" and opened the gate. Hahaha so technically I was on military base illegally?  Hmmm now I'm thinking maybe this wasn't the best story to share for my email....
