CONGRATULATIONS TO SENEKAH AND TYSON!!! I LOVE YOU BOTH!!!!! REID'S AND SMITH'S FOR ETERNITY!!
Last week we met a young man named B. He is from Thailand and has only been in the states for little over a year. This week we met with him and our member friend, Sister Rumfelt. Through (mostly) Google translate (dispensation pros) he told us that even though he grew up Buddhist he figured out that "the Christian God is the correct God." We translated the sentence "God is your loving heavenly father" and right when he read it he grabbed his chest and told us his heart was pounding. It's beautiful to help others understand the nature of our God. I know he loves us as the perfect father.
Later in the week he downloaded gospel library and we showed him how to switch the language to Thai. We asked him to read Mosiah 3 and while he was doing so he got the spirit chills! He looked up startled (because it's very warm outside) and we helped him understand it was the spirit teaching him truth.
Missions are the coolest.
While walking around a farmer's market this week talking to people we met a sir named Michael. He saw the name Jesus Christ on our name tags and automatically gave us free humus (bonus) and started sharing how he knows there can't be just heaven and hell.  "He would have many mantions for different levels of goodness." *jaw drops. We explained the kingdom's of glory and he was so happy to receive the assurance his theory the spirit taught him was true. ðŸ˜ŠGod is preparing the hearts of the children.
STEVE!!! Steve is AMAZING. He is dating a member who was attending the Spanish congregation. But they decided she knows better English than he does Spanish. We had a pass lesson with the Spanish elders and WOW STEVE IS AWESOME! (To be continued..)
I saved my favorite (if that's allowed) for last!
This miracle started Tuesday(?) night. We were knocking doors with a member when we met a woman named Nadia from Morocco. She was moving & we offered to help! She said yes!! She actually had just finished praying for help! We went by her house a couple times this week to assist her with unpacking. She is trying to finish quick because with Ramadan starting up today she won't have as much energy as usual. As we were talking she pulled out a Book of Mormon in Arabic!!! It was given to her by a friend a few years ago and SHE READS IT EVERY NIGHT! "Is this book your church or the presbyterians?" Hahaha definitely ours. And she's been to our church building for Christmas! Although she doesn't currently believe Christ is her savior she is starting to understand his important role in her life. :')
"Yea, thus we see that the gate of heaven is open unto all, even to those who will believe on the name of Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God." (Helaman 3:28)

Good news, our birds are still eating the food we leave out for them on the balcony. We have a blue jay and a crow that are regulars. no big deal. Also good news, IM STAYING IN CRYSTAL CITY WITH SISTER MINAKER FOR ANOTHER SIX WEEKS  this week we gathered some nuts that had fallen off a tree and ended up along the road in the gutter. We cracked them and tried boiling them. I don't know what our end goal was.. but it didn't work. Advice: leave the gutter nuts, they are very bitter. We met a man on the fourth floor... last door (haha)!! He met with missionaries in Korea but lost contact when he moved back to America. WELL HELLO, MIRACLES! There is a part of preach my gospel where a recent convert expresses how when he found the church it filled a hole in his heart/life that he didn't know was missing. I LOVE YOU

Before I left on my mission I was worried about the work coming off as "here, let me tell you how to live your life." I hate that feeling. (Degrading advice?) But what I've realized, and what is so beautiful about this gospel, is that when people are wanting to change the teachings, the truths, the testimonies, they all have a spirit of love. People realize and feel that we are here helping them because of love. Not because our way is better than their way. But because they have tried their way & through personal trials they have realized that the only way is God's way. Missionaries teach God's way. And help our heavenly father's children understand His way. This work is so worth it, always, but especially when the people thank us for helping them get closer to Christ. (-alma 5:26) Alright!! I must tell y'all about Sam Sayem. We met him two weeks ago. I haven't mentioned him yet because I didn't want to take attention away from Brother Farraj and Megan!   WELL, SAM IS AWESOME. I met him on an exchange. He and his wife were getting their groceries and going into the house. They really didn't seem that interested. But God knows the heart because the next day my real companion and I were in that same apartment complex. We saw a man sitting in his car, so naturally we go wave him to roll down his window so we can talk to him (perks of being a sister). It was Sam!! He says "I read your pamphlet.
