Happy Mother's Day

We have a good friend named Farah from Iran. She asked about the mission program so we breifely explained it. In her thick Arabic accent she replied "Your mom's are diamonds".
Happy mother's day to all the wonderful women in my life! You're all diamonds! ðŸ’Ž

Last night I typed out our numbers from the week to send to the district leader around 5:00. I was going to just send them because we always get distracted and forget to send them in time. But before I could hit send the spirit told me "wait, you'll find a new friend tonight." AWESOME! "Where should we go??" "Go visit Tree." (A woman we met last weekend.) So we did! And we met her sister named Bookie (Nigeria) and she told us all about how she has been praying for God to show her his true church! WHAT'S UP!? Missions are so cool. All we do is show up and cool stuff happens.

This week we were led by the spirit to meet a guy named Daniel. He's about 60 and has met with missionaries pretty much his whole life and loves everything about the church but is just "too darn busy to commit." ... well later in the week we met him at a pizza bar. In the conversation we had him read 3 Nephi 27:21 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, this is my gospel; and ye know the things that ye must do in my church; for the works which ye have seen me do that shall ye also do; for that which ye have seen me do even that shall ye do;" He burst into tears and for a split second Heavenly Father allowed us to feel a sliver of the love He has for Daniel. Filled with compassion for the man, we testified of Christ's atonement and the eternal goodness of God. It's moments like this where we fulfil our baptismal covenant to "mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places". These types of opportunities are there for us ALL, we just have to take action and follow the spirit!

A solid question Jacob, son of Lehi, asked us in chapter 4 verse 12:
"for why not speak of the atonement of Christ, and attain to a perfect knowledge of him, as to attain to the knowledge of a resurrection and the world to come?"

Sister Wiscombe and I are loving it here!!! I don't know how Heavenly Father does it... but every day and every week is better than the last! "And it came to pass that we lived after the manner of happiness." (2 Nephi 5:27)

LOVE you all!!

Love, Sister Izzy Smith
