Life is So Good:)

It was such a good week!! I just love being a missionary and I love people and I love sharing the gospel and I love life and I just want to give everyone in the world a big hug!!!!!

There is no aspect of the gospel of Christ that is beyond your capacity. If you think so it's the lies of Satan.
Alma said: "...it is as easy to give heed to the word of Christ, which will point you a straight course to eternal bliss, as it was for our fathers to give heed to this compass (Liahona), which would point unto them a straight course to the promised land...O my son, do not let us be slothful because of the easiness of the way...see that ye LOOK TO GOD AND LIVE..." (Alma 37:45-47)

Angela and Juan💛💛💛💛 They are from Nicaragua & I love them. They were found and taught by the English sisters for a while and when I got into the area we helped them transition into the Spanish congregation. Their English is pretty good but Spanish is just a better fit for them. Their baptism this weekend was so beautiful :') Kevin, their son who got baptized 7 weeks ago, baptized them!! Because member friends from the English and Spanish congregations were there the program was split both languages. The talk I gave was translated every few sentences by Elder Moulton. Sister Lundquist sang in English. And the ordinance was in Spanish. They were so so happy. Catch them getting sealed in Utah next year ðŸ¤˜ðŸ’›

We had zone conference this week! My highlight was "bloom where you're planted". Where ever you are at any given moment, bloom! God's plan of where he needs us planted is often different from where we think we need to be planted. But God obviously knows best! Therefore, bloom where you're planted!! ðŸŒ¼ðŸŒ»ðŸŒ¹ Every day is a day of miracles. Every moment is an opportunity to lift our brothers & sisters.😊

Jesika is a woman we have been teaching for a while and she finally came to church yesterday!! ðŸ’› We showed them around the church building a little earlier this week. While showing them the chapel the oldest daughter(9) took a hymn book, stood at the pulpet and began to sing I Know That My Redeemer Lives. Sister Lundquist started playing the piano for her. Jesika loved it so much. It was one of those moments where you just take in a deep breath and God tells you you're exactly where you need to be.

Margaret is a woman who was a referral from a man in the mount vernon ward. He met her at a pharmacy. Once talking they realized they were both members of the church. Margaret was baptized when she was 18 and hasn't really been active since. When sister lundquist and I went over this week to speak with her she opened up and admitted to not even knowing if God is there :( She is excited to refind the peace the gospel brings! She came to church for the first time in years & watching her take the sacrament melted my heart. High hopes her husband and children will feel the peace and agree to be baptized. Eternal families!

I don't want to fool anyone and have y'all think missionary work is all rainbows and butterflies. Every week is a rollercoaster. But by the time Monday rolls around and I reflect on the past 7 days, the only thing I feel is peace. I am so humbled to be a missionary.  It's Christ who does all the heavy lifting in this work. It's Christ who understands and heals and loves. Our salvation is with Him, not ever with the missionaries. And God loves us so much that he encourages silly 19 year olds to be a part of watching, up close, the miracle of Christ's atonement in action. Serving a mission and surrendering your will to God's will is a win for everyone involved.

I love you all.
God loves you more.

Love, Sister Izzy Smith!!
