First week in new area
One of THE most beautiful things I've ever seen on planet Earth: Virginia in the spring!
Everyone's first week in the mission seems to have crazy things happen. And to keep this tradition going the trainers get dragged into the mess! Hahaha well this week was exactly what you'd expect. Sister Wiscombe and I got locked out of our apartment, our car got towed, went the first 3 days in the area without a phone, almost got in a car crash, and as always.. witnessed many miracles.
An example: We knocked into this woman who automatically recognized us and let us inside! She's read a lot of her Book of Mormon she received from a lyft driver a few years ago! She said she would be happy to take the lessons and join us at church! WOO!
Another example: We talked to this young man who has met with missionaries in the past and finally feels like he is ready to commit to the gospel! WOO!
One more example: The constant underlying feeling of peace that can always be felt as we live the gospel of Jesus Christ!
There hasn't been sisters in this ward for 11 years & everyone was really excited about it. Very blessed to have had a friendly, Easter welcome!
I love new missionaries!! Their fire is empowering! Sister Wiscombe gave away her first Book of Mormon this week and watching her get so excited about it got me so genuinely excited about it as well!
Miracles aren't something to be casually lived by! And we are seeing MANY!
I've never been as happy and as fulfilled doing anything in my entire life than I have been as a set apart missionary. Easter Sunday, when I woke up, my first thought was how lucky I feel to be alive. And I quickly got emotional at the thought of living FOREVER in eternal joy. I am so especially thankful for our Savior and His atonement this year. So thankful for the promise of eternal life. For the resurrection that surely will come to all of us.
"Now, behold, I have spoken unto you concerning the death of the mortal body, and also concerning the resurrection of the mortal body. I say unto you that this mortal body is raised to an immortal body, that is from death, even from the first death unto life, that they can die no more; their spirits uniting with their bodies, never to be divided; thus the whole becoming spiritual and immortal, that they can no more see corruption." (Alma 11:45)
Happy happy happy happy!
